Seven month old infant passed away after being bitten by the family’s beloved dog.
Seven month old infant Elle Doherty’s skull was severely injured after a Belgian Malinois attacked her at her family’s Coventry house on Sunday after 15:00 British Summer Time.
West Midlands Police said the dog was taken from Shorncliffe Road on Sunday and compassionately killed.
Police declared Friday that they were “satisfied” there had been no crime.
A police spokeswoman said: “Elle was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to hospital for further treatment.”Unfortunately, she died soon after. All of us are thinking of her family during this terrible moment.
Police informed Elle’s family while preparing a coroner’s file.
The spokeswoman said, “Our thoughts remain with the family at this tragic time, and they have now requested privacy.”
